MobSafety Ranger launches in India! 12/07/2011

In Delhi, on the opening day of India Telecom 2011, MobSafety announced the release of the Hindi version of their Ranger Browser as well as the Indian website www.MobSafety.in MobSafety is a child-safe Internet technology company based in Vancouver, Canada.

Ranger is a feature-rich mobile browser suitable for children that is free to download. It is available for all Apple and Android devices and enables parents to filter content and create what the company describes as “a PG-13 environment” for children. Parents will be happy to know that Ranger has time controls and can be set to shut down browsing after bedtime.

The Android GPS locator version of the product can be downloaded for $1.99 US (approximately 99 rupees) and is also released today. This enables parents to locate the device if the child loses it. In addition, with a few clicks parents can create a GPS “Geofence” to receive a text message when their child or the device leaves the village, or any area defined by the parents.

Asked about India, MobSafety’s CEO Nick Murray declared, “The Indian mobile market is at the cusp of exploding with very competitively priced phones and tablets. MobSafety and the Ranger browser can play an important role in helping Indian parents to create a safe learning environment for their children.”
